Deep Dive Discussion - SILS

Clarifications on SILS escalation options and process regarding CDL-NZ challenges.

40All

Tom & Lynne joining to present guidance on escalation of issues around CDL-NZ concerns

Escalation path is in SILS via Operations Team - state problem for OT>Leadership>DOC>CoUL to determine solutions and help implement them.

Work Plans were inherited from previous group, but they are expected to evolve and change as needed. When they’re stymied by tech limitations, that’s a totally acceptable outcome of Ops Subteam investigation.

Burnout and overwhelm is universal across the system, and saying no is hard, so please bring up when there’s not enough time/energy to go around.

Governance can require some review to understand, and is in fact under review at Leadership to clarify bits that have resulted in “but what does that MEAN?!”

Listening is often the more crucial and/or challenging aspect of group work.

Top level expectations vs SubTeam expertise understandings - how do we reconcile potential upper level expectations with daily user understandings of system capabilities and Work Plan development? Harmonize where the opportunities present themselves and provide local ROIs, but top level expectations aren’t necessarily grounded in a clear understanding of exactly how the systems work or even expecting true harmonization. Leadership has been focusing on pushing back to DOC and up on expectations about what’s realistically feasible.

CDL / Local campus Workflows - Updates?

Time permitting

5/2: re: CDL-NZ group to support CDL Shared Acquisitions. Waiting to hear more. (Still true 8/15)

4/25

  • Lisa S. Alma does not handle negative allocations (that was one of the ways we managed the recharge/deposit w/ transactions by title to draw that down).

  • Lisa M. CDL has met with ExL to outline processes / use cases to take ExL development. Current functionality doesn’t fully support current workflows

  • Google Drive space for recording where/how recharges are recorded

  • SCLG supplying fiscal close deadlines.

  • CDL NZ Shared Collections reviewing current workflows, will start with performing needs assessment

New Items

Capture important topics for future discussion

Review of GOBI services - does anyone have data from the past year that might warrant review of acq plans?

General processing topics to discuss more in depth - continuations (receiving, renewals, to encumber or not to encumber - serials vs standing orders, standing orders vs approval volumes, etc.)
