Update on Project Timeline: We're in the middle of the Vanguard Phase. Vanguard training is underway with the internal training team; data load and forms are to be completed by the end of July. The goal is to make sure that the Vanguard campuses can move their data over and to begin testing to ensure that it all works and functions at a base level. And to make sure that the non Vanguard campuses, get a chance to look at it and make sure that it's going to work for them. Discussion followed about how to best do this. There will be a needs assessment. Each non-Vanguard campuses will be surveyed in order to identify the use cases and get a better sense of what these campuses are looking for in terms of viewing or testing Vanguard data. The goals is to set up the right privileges and accounts so that non-Vanguard folks can do what they need/want to do without interfering with the processes that are happening at the Vanguard campuses.

Decision templates: During the second half of the call we looked at how different groups were using the decision templates. Representatives from the Resource Management, PPC and Discovery group walked us through their group’s templates and processes.

Principles for Phase four have been adopted and approved by all the various groups including CoUL.

Krystal said that collection level records are manually created and added to Primo.

California Digital Newspaper Collection (CDNC) is held at UCR, but not managed by the library; Kate asked about getting this content into Primo. Chrissy said this collection is/may be tied to the national effort and wondered if it’s in the Primo Central Index

  •  Kate Tasker (Unlicensed) will check to see if the National Digital Newspaper Collection is in the Primo Central Index and if so, if all of the CDNC content is in the National Collection.
  •  UC Irvine and UC Davis will present at the next meeting; UC Santa Cruz will present at the following meeting.

Chrissy Rissmeyer (she/her) (Unlicensed)

Shared info about the JSTOR Community Collections call and wanted to share info. Chrissy didn’t like the JSTOR/ARTSTOR’s inability to pull in images. They presented to the Shared Visual Resources CKG. https://about.jstor.org/whats-in-jstor/open-community-collections/ Departments outside of the library are interested in using this.

Chrissy Rissmeyer (she/her) (Unlicensed) wonders if we should discuss collections from outside of the library and if/how to get them represented in the SILS.
