Socializing the new SILS governance structure

Check-in with Adrian and Ben, re: socializing the SILS Structure

For the September 21st town hall and online presence, we should include:

  • Overview of UCLAS

  • Overview of how SILS integrates into UCLAS

  • Overview of the CDL SILS Operations Center

Further preparation:

  • What might people be wondering about the governance structure? How does it impact the average UC Libraries employee?

When should we begin to socialize and focus more on the new structure?

  • Are folks familiar with when phase 4 concludes? Yes. Definitely in the Town Halls (verbally). It has also been in SILS-News - but a reminder would be good.

  • Decision: Post go-live, the next SILS-News will highlight that phase 4 concludes at the end of the calendar year.

What are we doing:

  • SILS-News post, week of Aug. 16 - “the dust has settled” - high-level mention of the new structure (to be implemented in Jan. 2022) and include link to the package on uclibraries + include invitation to Sept. 21 town hall

  • SILS-News post, week of Sept. 06 - high-level overview of UCLAS and the SILS Structure, plus reminder about upcoming town hall

  • Sept. 21 town hall - overviews of UCLAS, SILS Structure and CDL Ops Center (40 minutes of content, 20 minutes for questions)

What is this called?

  • UCLAS-integrated SILS Structure;

  • UCLAS-integrated, ongoing SILS governance

  • Ongoing, operationalized SILS

  • Ongoing SILS Structure (starting Jan. 03, 2022)
