UC-Ex Libris Workstream Improvement Project

Discuss timeline and mechanism for feedback on preliminary Discovery Report

The WIP is a two-year project between UC and Ex Libris, in which Ex Libris will make improvements to software and services for the UC (and with benefit to the larger community). The first stage of the project is the identification of issues that need to be addressed - called the Discovery Phase. After several months of investigation and discussions with the WIPT (WI project team), Ex Libris delivered their preliminary Discovery Report on November 14th, which contains all their recommendations for what could be worked on during 2025-2026. 

We now need SILS experts to review these recommendations and help the WIPT decide on the final list of UC-approved issues to work on. That work includes making comments, revisions, deletions, and even new suggestions if needed to ensure that UC gets a final list that will improve our Alma/Primo VE experience.

During November and December 2024, each OST (and All Chairs), Operations Team, and Leadership Group will have a chance to review and submit comments/revisions. WIPT is also available to meet with groups for in-depth discussion, and we may call on select individuals to help us refine the work as well.  

Our revisions are due back to Ex Libris at the end of January 2025. In order for the WIPT to aggregate all the feedback, we are asking for feedback on the preliminary Discovery Report by Wednesday, December 11th. SILS Cohort member groups will be given a “comment copy” of the report to work on through your SILS group.
