SILS Chairs Meeting Debrief

  • Plan for Policy & Practice Coordinators Approval of training materials

    • JT is on PPC and will help us coordinate

Responses to Ex Libris Questions:

  1. Question about Alma Essentials trainings remaining available after Q1 deadline:

    • These will be deprecated at some point, but ExL doesn’t know when. More info to come.

    • Marci’s goal is to leave Alma Essentials training alone but create a separate to do list for the new end-to-end workflows (after Test Load).

New changes to Alma Essential trainings (basically AE3)

  • There will be more of a switch to end-to-end workflows rather than trainings on all of the current options in Alma. These new workflow trainings will be useful for the IT team for the latter half of the project. Global delivery and Training are working together on this (documentation, KB, etc.). More details to come.

Chairs will be meeting with EUO Chairs next week to make sure that all training areas are covered and identify any gaps and who is responsible for those gaps

Primo VE Workshop

15 mins

Katie

  1. Primo VE Remote Workshop Agenda

    1. Sessions should be spread over 4-5 days in the same order as listed.

  2. For Primo VE configuration, questions could be covered in individual campuses. There are overview videos and trainings with a chapter on Primo VE configurations. Use SF case for configuration questions. There are also videos and documentation linked in Basecamp

  3. Timing of the workshop:

    1. Tentatively scheduled for

    2. March and April are not options for the workshop as Ex Libris is booked up. They are exploring options for May

      1. First two weeks in May are spoken for (first week - LAUC assembly / second week - NZ workshop)

    3. Do note that this is typically a post-Go Live workshop - and is presented once attendees have experience with Primo VE.

  4. Outstanding Questions

    1. Who is the intended audience for each session? (i.e. staff working on configurations / workflows or public service librarians / staff)

Spring Workshop Update

Scheduling for current Alma Campuses

Week of June 14 - Primo VE (Tentative) Workshop

  • Update from Discovery FG

Ex Libris would like campuses to bring questions to the workshops, not provide them in advanceto bring questions to the workshops, not provide them in advance

When questions get asked during

When questions get asked during the workshops, how are they followed up? this wasn’t done well during the vanguard

  • We probably need to put a plan in place for this. In past practice (at ucsc), ex libris trainer sent outstanding questions to ex libris implementation coordinator who answered questions in basecamp

Workshop recordings - SD really wants these to be saved for longer than 90 days

Individual workshop schedules:

  • Generic 5 day workshop

full meeting notes here: SILS InfoHub Brainstorming

  1.  Search functionality/navigation **

    1. really important

  2. Editing capabilities (i.e. how easy is it to add editors, have multiple editors, etc.)

    1. Will largely depend on whether people are interested in sharing documentation down the road

    2. CDL Could help with IP restriction (VPN and Proxy could work)

  3. Campus-specific areas to document local workflows.  (Related to this, it might be helpful to know if your campus has their own infrastructure for this already and if so what it is.)

    1. I - wiki locally used

    2. SD - Binders / confluence to track workflows. Interest in seeing/shareing local workflows

    3. B - documentation on an open wordpress site

    4. Workflows we’re getting from other FGs may be local campus specific

    5. Could be a benefit down the line for creating shared best practices / harmonization
