• UCD test of removing SCP records from Test Load environment

• In preparation for pre-cutover cleanup for already-Alma campuses, UCD is testing deleting 1.2M SCP bibs, portfolios and related notes from TL environment. Expects this to take about a week.

• Campuses should try to use prefixes in 035s to exclude SCP and other records as needed.

• Will be easier to do this once SCP stops file distribution.

TJ Kao Kao will share his deletion process and test results with the group

Erika Quintana will check with UCR metadata group for documentation and norm/indication rules to help with record exclusion/cleanup.

Marcia Barrett will add discussion about stopping SCP file distribution to this month’s SCP-AC meeting.

• UCI solved this by setting plugin to only look for records with the (OCoLC) prefix.

• Campuses ideally should add prefix to all 035s; however as this may not be practical try to concentrate on ones that may likely match on OCLC numbers and cause issues.

• Not sure if Gem ran the report again and excluded CKB records.

• In the meantime can filter original report by your campus and exclude CKB records to find ones to fix.

• UCR--need to send ExL a ticket re: SCP serials that went to Primo but shouldn’t have. Also finding records that should have linked to the NZ but didn’t.

• UCSC--problems sharing newly imported records with the NZ. RMFG may recommend import profile and best practice to add records to the NZ first and then send to IZ.

• New MDE seems glitchy; recommend using older one or MarcEdit/import profile for edits.
