As we all grapple to manage the impact of COVID19 on our daily lives, review these practices for taking time off from the SILS project and supporting members taking time off.
For absences of a short duration such as a vacation or conference, mark your leave on the Vacations/Out page on Google shared drive. You may not invite a substitute to attend a meeting in your place.
For extended absences of three or more weeks, such as family leave or reduced hours, talk to your group chair(s) about the possibility of choosing a substitute for attending meetings and completing group work.
As a best practice, groups should record meetings to be shared with members who are absent; delete recordings after a reasonable amount of time for privacy reasons.
