ACRL Statistics

Daisy

  • Simplified only the items displayed that we will be used to complete. Only a few categories still need input.

  • ACRL tables are the prototype. Table A is the volume count. Column M provides information or a link to the Guidance report for how the data was obtained.

  • The white cells represent the data that should be submitted to ACRL.

  • Microform is included in 42a Physical Media - libraries can include their self-reported numbers to this.

Details

  • It would be great for CDL to partner with someone who can access ARL data for historical comparison.

  • Institution Repository: e-Scholarship login provides usage data (provided by CDL)

  • There are other IRs that might factor into data that should be gathered locally.

Overall reason for CDL to provide other usage data reports (beyond UCOP)

  • CDL is attempting to reduce local workload for statistics - which is why we are reviewing ACRL and ARL data as well.

  • For next year will UCOP statistics reflect ACRL and other definitions?

  • Ex-Libris has added some new categories

    • Will this impact retrospectively or just new records?

    • Most likely unless MARC records are replaced then it will not change prior reports.

  • It would be useful for campuses to provide how they achieved their data for future continuity.

  • Database category: A-Z database list - Springshare has a creation date in the export CSV that can be used to filter newly added databases.

    • This is often subjective and possibly simplified data, hopefully in the future it can be retrieved from Alma and would be a good topic to review. (Parking lot)

There is a hold to review these issues over the summer and whether we will want to have a similar review process for UCOP and future statistics.

Yes, there is a plan to make the formatting more user friendly.
