| 3 | FY24-25 Process Planning |
| 40 | Anna | Only 9 of us present today for this discussion, which is being recorded. Powerpoint: Annual Stats: Preparation/Review Step. We want to define a regular process for FY25 and beyond. Goal of this task: Ensure all controlled values are appropriately categorized. Want to identify & categorize new values, with campus review. Daisy needs a chance to make changes to prior to the stats build. Assumptions: Categorization decisions for existing values will change seldom, if at all. AASA-PT will only with what campus system documentation that exists. Annual stats reporting process is an exercise of “good enough.” Not seeking perfection. We hope campus colleagues will share these assumptions. (SIL Leadership Group has wondered if our project term is really short term group of 1-2 years' duration.) We are trying to create a review process that is self-sustaining, needing low amount of intervention. (Anna will add that as 4th assumption on her slide) Timeframe for reviews: Must be done by mid-June Overview of previous process: In FY22/23 surveyed process across all campuses. Analysis & summary of results. “Prototype” NZ-level output, with 8 iterations. In 23/24 “review files” listing all values with previous decisions; made decisions on new values. Assessment of FY23/24 process: Identified new values not present in past years. Opportunity to clean up previous stats categorizations. Required significant work from campuses; challenges communicating priorities; ambiguity about how AASA-PT would use previous decisions; challenges understanding previous decisions. Revised process: Prioritized review of new values & affirming decisions on ambiguous values. Targeted communication to campuses. Clarified AASA-PT reliance on previous decisions. Most 22/23 decisions were affirmed and carried forward. New values were very few in number. Process for 24/25 and beyond: 3 options
First one is most lightweight, appealing. Looking at the official instructions to see if there are any significant changes affecting our work is an important step, but those instructions don’t get issued in time for this process.
