5 | Why are we here? | Understanding of the basic premise: leads to understand actions for pursuing that premise | 25 | Team | What is the problem we're trying to solve? Team Charge: “The ultimate objective of this team is to get CDL Shared Collections to a sufficient production level of work in the Alma NZ, and to operationalize the processes such that ongoing work can be managed within the current SILS Governance. As tasks are identified, it is expected that they will be handed off to the SILS acquisitions, eResources, and other appropriate OSTs. Essentially, this team needs to put itself out of a job as soon as it can.”
Team charge is a very broad starting point. Will need to focus in on CDL Acq processes and shared decisions to implement these processes. Phase 4 conversations were really focused on record migration. There was a limitation of most rep from the campus but needed to be able to see from the NZ perspective. This group is a good opportunity to dig into how Acq needs to function from the NZ. Need to be able to make shared decisions - doesn’t need to be permanent/set in stone but make decisions and try to move forward. Decisions need to be feasible for CDL to implement. Make sure there’s a shared perspective so CDL also understands how NZ Acq decisions affect the campuses. CDL ACQ has never been in an ILS - Getting CDL Acq into Alma requires NZ/IZ collaboration. This group will impact library staff. We want to take advantage of functionality that Alma should be able to provide. Our major stakeholder is the library staff – making their life easier. Create sustainable processes. Make sure we’re following the general principles of how the system works. Where can we harmonize and where we can’t. More we can streamlined this process the faster things get turned on for user. The faster troubleshooting happens. Big pictures: what do the campuses need? What needs to be in the NZ so the campuses can do their job? May also need to ask Ex Libris to develop more consortia functionality.

| Fiscal year end is happening right now. CDL has gaps in staffing which is making getting the work done by end of fiscal year very challenging. We’ll discuss this more at the next meeting. |
