Testing

Testing moving - conditions of POL moving

  • Think about situations where we have a new collection every year.

  • Lisa S tested moving POL from suppressed bib to NZ inventory.

    • This seems fairly straightforward (particularly compared with attaching to NZ inventory). However, in order to see the orders in the IZ, have to change the search to All Titles

    • NZ Sandbox will not see UCD’s POLs linked (general tab won’t have the campus POL info). This may be useful for CDL to know if they need to use a different collection.

      • Question: Could Analytics show NZ inventory and attached IZ POLs?

    •

Future testing:

  • Link NZ Inventory to IZ POL and IZ Bib - Tamara

  • Link multiple NZ inventory to single IZ POL - Lisa S

  • Multiple IZ POLs to single collection (probably can’t do?)

    • Could do an additional POL but not exactly the same.

  • IZ POL links to NZ inventory and then the NZ inventory is deleted - Erika B

  • IZ POL links to NZ Bib and then the NZ bib is deleted - Erika B

  • Find a simple example in production so we can see how this looks in Analytics. - IZs will dig and look for something ready to go.

Tamara has started working on the write-up for the testing we’ve done so far: draft document.

Group will work on some additional testing around POLs outside of official meeting times.

Talk about license and vendor codes if Lisa M is available

  • CDL needs to think about License codes more. Currently are numerical, which may be unique to CDL and thus easy for campuses to know they’re CDL’s. However, does it make sense to switch to alphanumeric? If so, how are they distinguished from campus license codes?

  1. Look at what other consortia are doing

    1. Lisa S found a doc UW Alma License implementation which she emailed to the CDLNZ-PT group.

CDL will change existing vendor codes to “CDL-” so campuses can easily see which belong to CDL. CDL will discuss internally whether they wish to keep the existing “PRV” scheme.
