Sharing and Updates

5

Share any Discovery related information from other SILS groups

LG: Talked about schedule due to holidays. Continued review of work plan. Reviewed LG charge. Two subgroups including a named user count group. Also the renewal negotiation project team.

OT: Spent a lot of time talking about removing the comma and syncing with the NZ table. NOTE: This change might mess up the CSS used to customize campus names in the facets.

All-Chairs: Updates. Started consolidating the beefs. Jackie/Sarah will be meeting with Adriana around some of this. Adriana may be able to get us more access to development/product managers.

Accessibility concerns: Will be meeting every two weeks. Ex Libris is trying to deal with the issues identified in the VPAT by Q1 2024. UCB has an accessibility screen reader user that uses Firefox and has concerns about how well it works with that. Want a better understanding of WCAG standards and what is being supported. UCB has a DOJ mandate for WCAG 2.0.

Gem will post the comma test plan on Slack next week so everyone can take a look. After the sandbox change has been made, she’ll also post to Slack so everyone interested can take a look at any potential changes in Primo.

Slack/General Questions

5

UCSD continues to have intermittent problems with images not loading. So far, no other campus has noticed this problem.

3

Quick Topics

10

Discuss how the brief result availability label is setup at each campus

This is controlled by the Calculated Availability Text labels. This table contains many values. However, we’re probably just interested in the most common. Side note, the default case of these labels varies widely.

Members will export their Calculated Availability Text Labels so we can compare and highlight the ones you felt were important to change.

4

Exclude eBooks from CDI Results

25

Review the Exclude eBooks from CDI Results decision page and come up with a testing plan.

  • Discussed what scenarios we want to test.

  • Discussed which Collections to look at.

  • Gem will add the collections that CDL Shared Collections is particularly interested in.

  • Gem will start a spreadsheet to use for testing and bring to the Disc steering committee for refinement.
