Share any Discovery related information from other SILS groups

LG:

• Mostly the same topics as last time.

• Exploratory work around shared documentation - may set up a page for UCs to share existing documentation sites

OT:

• Discussed most recent Ex Libris Support Meeting

  • Resource Sharing still can’t get good usage stats for digital lending due to how Ex Libris processes completed requests.

  • If we have a ticket late in the day that we need immediate action on, we should email the escalation email rather than hit the escalation button.

  • Need to work out the timing for the Organization Unit Name Change

  • Ex Libris has the ability to give us an export of all open tickets for the system.

• Looked at the revised Proposal for Expanded NZ Access and endorsed it. Work will likely get started within the next couple of weeks.

• Formally added Infrastructure as a theme in the Alma/Primo VE Needs doc

All-Chairs:

• Talked about the NZ access proposal

• Eres has created a Best Practices for writing tickets/troubleshooting.

• TJ at UC Davis provided an update about them implementing linked data. We’ll want to see how this looks in Primo VE.

  • Jared update: waiting for some documentation from Ex Libris regarding how the indexing works. Still a lot of testing required.

Accessibility update:

• Gem needs to submit ticket to Ex Libris

In a future discovery meeting we’ll go through the accessibility spreadsheet and highlight the easy fixes.

• FYI: UCR has an issue where items on Course Reserve that are also in a Dedup or FRBR group are not displaying the Course Reserve icon like they are supposed to. (ticket: 07029351)

Everyone agreed with the general gist of the recommendation.

We reviewed the advantages/disadvantages and settings that may impact the behavior.

We need to add a section to provide a basic description of what “option 1” and “option 2” are and it probably needs to be above the advantages/disadvantages section.

Still to do:

• List suggested testing strategies

• Review wording

• Cleanup document

If time allows: Discovery Workplan

Automatically Enable Quicklinks has been added to the Discovery Workplan document. How should it be prioritized compared to the other things?
