Slack/General Questions

CDL: Ex Libris has been working with us to allow IZs to select NZ resources when working with Display Logic rules. NZ, UCB, and UCD have this in sandboxes for testing. Let Gem know if you have use cases.

UCLA: How are you all handling deposits at SLF facilities outside of your IZ? UCLA is starting to deposit materials (including special collections) at SLF-N, and we have some questions:

  • Special Collections often keeps important metadata in local fields. Even if these are directly migrated into SLF-N records, we wouldn’t see them in our Primo, Alma, or Analytics reports since they’re not in our IZ. How do you deal with this?

    • Similarly, how do you deal with POs and cataloging statistics?

  • When deposited at an SLF, patrons can’t request non-circulating materials through Primo. It looks like Aeon requests should work for special collections items (and I’d be interested to see how this is configured in Alma), but is there a workaround for other materials?

  • Do you maintain “ghost records” (suppressed bib or holdings records) for deposited materials?

Vice Chair Selection

We have options, but it would be great to get someone new in this role. Talk to Zoe if you’re curious what it entails.

NDE Draft Decision Page

Review and revise.

15

Gem has revised the page, adding more information to the “Recommendation” section. In this meeting, we deleted the “Questions to consider” section for lack of applicable content.

Zoe will work with Jared to make final edits and send to review and approval groups.
