Check-in / Logistics / Any issues with testing?

Report any major changes in availability / circumstances

Anything to report on the test load?

10

Carlo

  • Tom will be out on Thursday. We’ll use Lena’s zoom.

  • UCB is returning in person in the fall. Impact to the library unknown at this time. Moffitt Library will be renovated and many departments are moving to Doe library during construction.

  • Several campuses experienced slowness. Those instances should report to ExL.

Lynne will create a ticket on BC about the slowness issue some campuses are experiencing in NA07. Others will chime in.

2

ILS Data cleanup / Patron Data groups / PPC

  • ILS Data Cleanup (Tom): co-chairs visit on 3rd Thursdays. TJ Kao and/or Catherine Busselen will join on 3/18.

  • Patron Data (Carlo)

  • PPC:

    • Review final decisions (as needed)

  • SILS Chairs/Coordinators meeting update & actions

15

Carlo, Tom

  • ILSDC (Catherine):

    • For day 1 cleanup recommendations, can the system handle it or will it slow the system? We need to prioritize the work and schedule it when it won’t affect the live system.

    • Might be some big cleanup in the NZ between go-live and the end of phase 4.

    • What’s the timeframe ICs recommend for this cleanup work?

    • Deletions will be done in IZs early - If all campuses are doing their SCP deletions at the same time, will that be OK?

    • Recommendation that we should assume the system cannot handle doing work all at the same time and proactively schedule the work staggered. Suggestion to ask for extra provisioning on the first days. Could we create a plan (with estimates of the scale of work, timeline) and ask ExL to review it? Can ExL do a scheduled job for us?

    • ILSDC will ensure all cleanup is in one document for ease of use.

    • ILSDC is working closely with Alison and Gem on NZ stuffs.

  • Patron Data:

  • Nothing to report for SILS chairs (canceled 3/10; next meeting is 3/24)

  • PPC

For post-go-live data cleanup work, create a plan (with estimates of the scale of work, timeline). Ask ExL to review it. Ask if ExL can do a scheduled job in our instance for us? (if that’s desired) Suggestion to setup a special meeting with ExL to discuss the SCP records. Catherine will provide the data/numbers and reach out to Tom & Carlo for next steps.

@Catherine Busselen will provide the data/numbers for post-go-live data cleanup work including SCP record deletion, and reach out to Tom & Carlo for next steps.

Timeline review / PM update

Stay up to date on timeline / deadlines

5

Lena

  • Any questions on the timeline?

    • Increased need for cutover date related to fiscal close (UCSC can provide additional details)

  • UC-led special meetings:

    • Mar 22 Using OCLC with Alma

    • Mar 25 Fiscal Close Planning

  • Special meetings requested (dates TBD):

    • RLF Fulfillment Meeting - How do we configure Alma to allow the Regional Library Facilities to serve all UC campuses within Alma (via the Rota or some other prioritization method)

    • VDX NCIP integration with Alma at UCLA - a meeting with OCLC (Ralph Horton) and UCLA. We would like to have a shared understanding of the steps required to configure VDX NCIP integration with Alma at UCLA.

    • Inventory management groups and campus configurations for UCB/LBL - How inventory management groups work, understand campuses and related configurations

4

Gauge interest in having a SILS panel session.

  • Possible approach for the agenda: We would like to introduce our campus IT colleagues to ways their systems can interact with ALMA and SILS.  If your ALMA system is already interacting with other campus systems or if you see opportunities on your or other campuses for campus systems to interact with ALMA we would love to have you as a panelist at a UC IT Conference presentation on this subject.

5

Lena

Timing is terrible! No interest.

Alma accounts followup

Update on Alma accounts task force

5

Lena

  • Alma Accounts Task Force charge has been drafted and is going to WG for review and approval on Friday 3/19.

  • Received 4 nominations for members. Stay tuned for WG’s decision.

6

Developer’s network accounts

Discuss: Developer's network accounts for current Alma campuses in Test Load. Would it make sense for all of the current alma campuses to choose the same option?

10

Jeremy

  • What is possible is either creating a new dev network tied to NA07 and get rid of it at go-live or use your sandbox for APIs. Jeremy is asking for a new instance of dev network since he uses his sandbox for APIs already.

  • Lakshmi agreed a separate instance of the dev network would be best for UCI.

  • The already-Alma campuses should request it individually.

Q&A (recurring)

Q&A during the IC meeting as a first stop before asking a question on Basecamp.

If it’s time-sensitive, post to slack (IC channel, SILS Chairs are good options)

Any issues that we want to seek broader input from other consortia?

TBD

Carlo

9

Questions for Ex Libris PM (recurring)

Post questions in Basecamp as they come up. It’s open 24/7!

Note: We lose in efficiency and we may lose in translation when questions go through the PMs. When topics come up that should logically go to Basecamp to the Ex Libris consultants, invite an IC (or appropriate person) to take point on that issue.
