A few requests from new Alma campuses about the OCLC publishing job. Can they contact already Alma campuses for help?

UCSB: Catherine or Jeremy Hobbs. not publish e-content
UCSC: Marcia. also not publish e.
UCD: Jared Campbell.
UCR: Will ask

SCP has decided not participating the OCLC holdings update project

856 “valid related resource”

10 mins

Do other campuses add this text to 856 42s? Should it be removed?

The larger 856 issues will be addressed at a later time.

UCSD used to add the text in $x to distinguish the fields intentionally added and those that just came in, but

Do other campuses have similar practices?-- No

Ask campus groups if it’s ok to remove the note if needed (non urgent)

3

Work Plan and Ops Team Handoff

Review priorities in Handoff document

25 mins

Priorities and deliverables

Non-Gobi Shelf Ready Records (Casalini and others): pretty high priority; best practices, other options (what if vendors can’t update OCLC?, etc.), expectations, etc.; work with ACQ group

Non-English records: can it be a quick decision--no add to NZ? How important is it?
Low priority. Quick policy note would help
Non-CZ non-English language records in NZ: 6,307,087

Study hall/Coffee chat session: maybe finding a regular time slot is not a high priority for now

ETD: any pressing needs? Outlining current understanding of the process will help.

CZ use best practices: on the ERES list as well. How are we comfortable about harmonizing it? Which group should take the lead?-- OK to let ERES handle it and RM contributes input

Standardizing holdings policies: should the statements be harmonized?
Summary vs. more detailed holdings--Two RLFs are using different statement levels. Harmonizing one way or the other would be a major project-- more reasonable to wait until other RLF decisions are settled.
How could/should other fields be used in holdings records?

Authority control: decision so far is to stage NZ reports for campuses with interest/needs can work on them.
Items to address include:
How campuses find headings that impact them and how they should indicate what work is done;
How headings can be updated to inclusive languages as soon as possible
Series management
Projected date: June- July
