Liz:

• NERS voting: for this year, AllChairs will vote for 1 enhancement from the list and allocate all 600 UC votes.

• Non-cohort Google drive access: If folks at your campus want access to files/items in the SILS cohort, CDL can grant that to them.

Hermine:

• The brief RLF/Alma survey has a quick turnaround time (due 6/17)--please share broadly and encourage anyone who is involved with RLF workflows to fill it out.

• I’m experimenting with making some changes to the Browse Bibliographic Headings and Selection Display in our sandbox (waiting for a reindex right now) to see if it can do a better job with name/title headings; will keep you posted.

Marcia:

• CMCKG sent a proposal to SILS leadership for a project, Recommendations for 

  Ethical and Inclusive Metadata Practices 

  in UC Library Search

Shi:

• SCP cleanup has moved all P2E portfolios to their designated collections, SCP will clean up standalone P2E portfolios when time permit; Also about over 40 collection level bib records being replaced by SCP records

• CDL and UCSD also opened tickets on searching/cross-mapping non-Latin characters

Use of (Brief) Order Records in NZ/IZ

There is no customization with NZ Linking Job. Yoko is experiencing multi-matches as a result of running the job and those records have to be dealt with manually.

We may need to revisit this topic.

Authority control

Discuss what the current state in Alma and next steps

For some campuses, there is interest in authority control in Alma but no capacity to contribute.

We are missing way to identify headings coming in from OCLC which are excluded from Preferred Term Correction job (no authority record or old authority record)

Alma AC reports any kind of change (example, punctuation) making the report voluminous and challenging to review for significant changes

How can we help Alma to not create problems for us? Example - FAST vocabulary was not current, and Alma changed updated FAST headings back to the former heading, “Illegal aliens.”

Do we want to turn off Preferred Term Correction functionality? This will keep our records in sync with WorldCat Daily Updates

@Hermine Vermeij will ask Gem about someone from RM running reports on headings that could not be linked so we can review.

@Elizabeth Miraglia will draft a decision page for Turning Off Preferred Term Correction AC job for campus review and discussion.

Alma Publishing to OCLC

• Request from some UCLA staff for next RM-OST sharing session to be on LHRs and publishing profiles--any interest/expertise to offer?

• There’s a lot of interest among the group but limited expertise

Limited Search Functionality in Alma and Analytics

• EL has been asked repeatedly to index all MARC fields. There is a limit on the number of local parameters we can set up, and there is a need to identify data that is not indexed (example, content type)

• Alma Idea Exchange: Add 880 field to the Bibliographic Details dimension table in Analytics

@TJ Kao will check with Jared Campbell about sharing knowledge/experience with Alma Publish Holdings Only functionality
