UCLA (Hermine)

• Pretty much done cleaning up our Amalivre records and OCLC holdings.

• Working on improving our e-bookplate display: planning on using a local 9XX field in the bib to display the name of the bookplate and an image.

• RCPT officially done. (Final report)

UCSB (Catherine)

• Starting project to send our serials data to GreenGlass; if other campuses have done this since being in Alma and especially since the consortial migration would love a contact in case we have questions

• Currently acquisitions is doing work-arounds for electronic databases like NoorLib/NoorMags (OCLC record, no CZ, need to order as collection but then can’t link to NZ record). Maybe this is something that a subset of RM and ER groups can work together to create some recommended workflows for these?

SCP (Shi):

• See my note about OCLC plan to visit SCP in slack.

• SCP catalogers ask what’s difference in our page under decision pages and policy and practice pages

• SCP catalogers also ask can Phase 4 decision page link to current page in additional to have current page link back to Decision page?

CMCKG (Marcia):

• TJ did a demo of adding BNE subject headings to records through WorldShare Record Manager. It’s a record-by-record process to add BNE SH equivalents to LCSH. Marcia has a pending inquiry with OCLC as to whether they will consider adding these SHs.

Item retention standardization

The UC-wide Shared Print group is interested in possibly standardizing some terms for item retention in Alma to help with statistics gathering, etc.

Right now, it seems like the Shared Print group can come up with the controlled terms but campuses would be responsible for implementation (it doesn’t seem likely that CDL can do the updates since it involves physical inventory)

Questions for campuses:

• Are you able to identify your shared print items in Alma?

• Would your campus have the bandwith to add retention notes to your relevant items once a vocabulary is developed?

URI export in WDU configuration

Is it possible to consider including all the available URIs in the WDU exports? Currently, WMS allows URIs of give sources exported along with bib. But our current WDU setting is not to include them.

UCD is planning some future experiments with these URIs. While we have all these URIs embedded for our local OCLC export via Record Manager, lots of them are wiped out during WDU.  (For instance, see the record history of OCLC#1269094110)

The actual impact of having these URIs should be fairly minimal to both Alma and Primo users. For Alma, the data displays but doesn't do anything at the moment. For Primo, the out-of-box setting is not to display data in $0 and $1.

• Alma August release has five CZ “Managed by Community” collections where portfolios can be deleted by everyone

• Interest in session answering questions on how campuses decide when or why to use CZ

Limited Search Functionality in Alma and Analytics

• EL has been asked repeatedly to index all MARC fields. There is a limit on the number of local parameters we can set up, and there is a need to identify data that is not indexed (example, content type)

• Alma Idea Exchange: Add 880 field to the Bibliographic Details dimension table in Analytics
