UCLA: link to our local RMFG specs for the curious. We had a couple issues with the test load data processing:

  • We tried to change 880 tags that were linked to local data fields (e.g., a local 700 with a linked 880 being mapped to a 9XX field), but it ended up being too time-consuming; we are still hoping to do it for cutover.

  • About 1200 bibs did not get the local data changes because the program crashed in the middle of a batch and wasn’t caught.

From the SILS Town Hall:

  • Expect SILS to take more of your time than it does now, let Liz know if you need help with institutional support

  • Vanguard access ends on December 18 (Friday). Your accounts will still work but we have agreed to stop using the environment then.

Reminder: Study hall tomorrow will start with the NZ authority control task list. Open to any campus staff who have an interest. It will be recorded and posted to our meetings page.

Workflows to test

We have a bunch of things we should look at during test load, a lot of which should also be shared with AEFG, Fulfillment, and Discovery. Let’s start brainstorming a list and thinking about where we need collaboration so we can try to finalize in January.

If things come up at your campus that could use a systemwide decision, please add to the list.

The SILS mission is to transform library services and operations through innovation and collaboration. The future is shared!
