Alma Certification: is anyone currently Alma certified? Is anyone else interested in doing it right now?

  • We need 2-3 people from our FG certified by September, as mentioned in Liz’s email of June 29. These people will have a better view of the whole software, in order to help inform our decisions.

  • TJ: It can be done at one’s own pace, watching videos and taking (re-taking) tests. Also, if you want to work on configuration, you’ll need this.

  • We can also get certified on our own later.

TJ is certified; Liz will be certified; Hermine is considering it; names due this week, so Liz needs the names by the end of the day Wednesday, for the group certification.

Planning for July training

Get list of people who need to do “Essentials” training

Alma Essentials Training on Wednesdays/Mondays

“Special Meetings” on Thursdays

  • Everyone who wants access to the Vanguard sandbox needs “Essentials” training (can be done asynchronously). It means 3-4 sessions for us around mid- to late-July.

  • This training will also be offered again next year, closer to migration.

Liz will send more info after Wednesday meeting; names due this week; we should all at least watch the videos.

Liz will copy RM group info from Basecamp to our Google Drive.

Campus data questions

Report out and field questions about how campuses are prepping their data

35 mins

All

  • Hermine (UCLA): 035 field cleanup, local fields moved; 856->956; SCP records removed

  • Jean (UCB): Working on target fields in 950-999; NRLF holdings cleanup; de-duping

  • Catherine (UCSF): Moving local field data, holding off on some decisions

  • Martha (UCSB): Local SILS group meeting formally Monday; some cleanup decisions waiting until Vanguard results are visible.

  • Liz: (UCSD): Local RM group meeting weekly; will use Millennium check-in records to make Alma holdings records; 035->977; working for SCP too

Catherine: Are campuses moving public data into 9xx (non-public) fields?

  • Hermine: Entire database duplicated for SILS, current catalog stays public until go-live

  • Liz: Data extracted for SILS, current catalog still public, especially because of lack of physical access

  • Shi: SCP working on a few migration scenarios; meeting on Thursday with ExL

Martha: Are there any Primo NZs (union catalogs) working now? None yet, but CARLI’s is coming

Jean: “EA” in the 9xx spreadsheet, it’s a typo

Liz: PPC will be looking at configurization harmonization, P2E etc.

mapping for 700/7XX fields

using 005 fields during migration?

OCLC update service during Vanguard?

How do OAC finding aids wind up in the CZ? (maybe look in sandbox?)
