all

How can we ascertain if this was a successful change?

Timeframe: compare 2/16-3/2 to 1/26-2/9

Cancelled digitization requests (lending): retrospectively gathering what’s available in Alma analytics.

Lots of subjective/anecdotal ideas about what’s happening. Will compose those in the AFN task force g-drive folder.

Gathering statistics in VDX to measure growth of Not Supplieds: not possible retrospectively so we will not be able to that metric to measure success of this choice. This will be a subjective measure.

@Alison Ray (CDL) look into Alma RS analytics w/in 2/16-3/2 to 1/26-2/9 timeframe; canceled digitized lending requests; number of physical lending requests Mar 9, 2022

Current Work Plan

What were most popular ‘phase four’ hand off projects?

Which 2-3 projects will we work on now?

10

Alison looked at what people identified as top 3-4 priorities and tracked mentions.

Steering committee needed to synthesize the ideas, put these items on the work plan, define next steps and create assignments.

Steering committee members: @Peter Devine , @Linda Michelle Weinberger , @Alison Ray (CDL) , @Jason Newborn

Determine meeting intervals - maybe twice in March and then monthly after to track progress.

@Alison Ray (CDL) will make steering committee meeting Mar 3, 2022

NRLF request issue

update on issue stopping requests going to NRLF

2

Issue fixed as of this morning. There was one “rogue request” that clogged up the works. Once that was cleared out the problem was fixed.

RLFs and their home campuses on the rota

3

Sabrina has noticed that when you put an RLF on the rota Alma always adds the home campus (Berkeley or LA) to the rota even if they don’t own the item which can be problematic: not owned by campus and also not showing on the pick list and getting stuck at that campus.

Parking Lot

Capture important topics for future discussion

  1. Analytic reports mentioned by Linda Michelle as wanting to be discussed in the future:

Capturing monthly AFN ILL UC Stats for Borrowing and Lending.

Capturing list of requested AFN Borrowing journal titles for annual CCC reports.

2. (May have to be discussed jointly with fulfillment subgroup):

Courtesy (upcoming) overdue please renew and recently overdue notices sent to AFN Borrowers by the Lending institution. We have had several for AFN requests which comes from lenders. Problem is the courtesy reminders from other institutions (Lending institution) instructs the Network Borrower to go to the Lenders home institution portal to log in to request their renewal, for example, which the Network user cannot do. We also got an out of the box overdue notice from a Lender that was one day overdue and sounded over-threatening about charges coming up soon for lost/late materials. This upset our patron. We need to discuss maybe using more generic language on these notices or seek other solutions for including local Borrowing information. (LMW)

3. Adding UCs into the automatic rota in WSILL - what do we think of this? Is it helpful in filling requests that fall out of the AFN?
