1 | Minor updates, confirm agenda, look at past action items | 10 | | Melvyl & Related Services Patron chart Confirm action: Publish the first 4 rows only. Confirm action: For Row #4, we changed the text to make it clear that this is relevant to links from databases/Google Scholar. Suggestion to actually put the buttons in there. Confirm action: For Row #3, we are ok saying "UC Library Search - Worldcat" Is there any other alternative way to say this? All campuses will have some way to get to Worldcat to do this, either via drop-down scope, or via outbound link in the Filters. The name they are using is "Worldcat" regardless of if it is Worldcat.org or Basic Worldcat Discovery.
Confirm action: For Row #1, us "my campus catalog or discovery tool" for the UC Library Search website (CDL) version.
For the Notification Messages (pre-go live messages) Confirm action: Publish "VERSION 2" in the Citation Linker section as a notification. Note: This message needs to be the same for all campuses, but each campus version of "Fetch Item" may be different and may be called a different thing. The biggest reason why we should have a notification here is that some people may have a bookmark to this page, and they should be warned. After go-live, your campus can replace your Citation Linker link with whatever you want (e.g Advanced search, Fetch item, etc) Related comment: We can also request a static page after go-live that says the Citation linker is retired, etc.
Confirm action: Consider the alternative version for the UC-eLinks notification. We know now that this will be a rolling timeframe, and there will be several months where UC-eLinks and Get it at UC coexist.
Action: Each campus can write their own SFX A-Z list notification. Apparently these are super customized anyway. You can email UCELinks@ucop.edu to request customization changes. (Note that Alison out last week June - first week July and she is the one doing all the changes.) The simpler, the better. I don't know that we will have a post-go live message on this.

4 | Other items for discussion? Timing of UC Library Search go-live is being discussed. Please discuss with your local campus. At the Chairs meeting, Lena was saying “12 noon” because of all of the back end verifications that have to take place on the day-of. There was also discussion of “maybe we will say 12 but it will actually happen at 10.” Questions for your campus:Will Melvyl be turned off at the moment UC Library Search goes live? Will our local catalog be turned off at the moment UC Library Search goes live? (If not, then you might be able to pick your time for UC Library Search to “go live” to patrons) For already-Alma campuses, your local catalog probably WILL be turned off at the moment UC Library Search goes live? How will you manage this?
- Stacy will ask about Melvyl’s actual expiration time.
Escalation Scenarios email sent to DOC from Communications Leads Question about the UC Library Search Website Meeting with Caitlin Nelson, Discovery, Fulfillment sometime this month
Questions about the project and how it affects end users? Things learned/shared from local campuses that would benefit the whole group?
