All Chairs Meeting

  • Email examples of support tickets to Gem where Ex Libris sits on the ticket for several months then responds asking if the campus can replicate the problem.

  • Ex Libris renegotiation finished. We get more “users.” There’s also going to be a team between UC and Ex Libris to address the “needs” document that’s been compiled where the software falls short. More details in OT Notes. 2024-08-07 Meeting notes

August Features Release

Questions, Comments, any Campus Testing of New Features?

10

  • Export: Davis ran a few tests to examine the output. Still need to walk the public facing librarians through it. It’s helpful to not be limited to 50 at a time.

  • Linked Data: Davis found issues with linking. Click to find everything your library owns: uses the Linked Data ID to surface that and if your records don’t have the Linked Data ID then the record won’t show in the results.

  • Seems to be a lot of support for fixing screen-reader related issues, which is nice.

  • Next feature release is in November.

Work Plan

Continue to work through identifying possible issues for the Discovery group work on 2024/25

20

  • Still moving through the list to identify short list items, items to hold off due to Next Discovery Experience, and items to shuffle to a “Not harmonizing, interested campuses should do their own research and document for team” sort of tab.

  • Informal subgroup to prototype a primo studio central package

  • (Last item worked on: Import into Primo)

Primo Studio Note:

This is the surfliner project that ucsd and ucsb work together out of: https://gitlab.com/surfliner/surfliner/-/tree/trunk

This is ucsb's GitLab repo (ignore the readme, I haven't had time to update it since migrating from GitHub): https://gitlab.com/ucsb-library/alma-primo/-/tree/trunk
