Phase 4 Note: Some use it, some do not. Campuses could use it locally if need be for 973.

UCSD is discussing current usage of the fields and plans to continue local use.

Team Charter -proposal to add to the “expectations for working together”

Consider addition of new process, based on experience with 930/973 Decision process

3

Tamara Pilko

In meetings, after an agenda item is discussed as a possible system-wide issue, the Vice-Chair will take a poll of members to ascertain if an issue or concern under discussion affects each campus. This will help the SILS subteams to scope their work while supporting members with local issues.

Slides: Prioritizing CDL E-Resource Collections

CDL NZ Data Cleaning spreadsheet

Cleanup is ongoing, 1/3rd is complete and 1/3rd is multi-match, and the final third is what is being worked on now.

Items that are approaching renewal could be prioritized by CDL for addition to the NZ.

If there are repeat problems to the Helpline, those too could be prioritized.

New content “March 2021” and forward is not in the NZ, not on the NZ Data Cleaning Spreadsheet

  •  Lisa Mackinder ERES voted to have CDL prioritize NZ Data Cleaning Spreadsheet by date order of upcoming renewals

SCP Monthly Updates

930/973 field - individual campuses to discontinue practice?

  • what questions would individual campuses have if this occurred?

  • what concerns would prevent discontinuation at this time?

Michelle Polchow

  • Put to vote: campuses continue using 973 locally

  • SCP may continue to use 930 for internal management

CDL Collections: use of
”selected full text” vs “full text” in collection service editor

Apply Follow-up: Next steps to applying analysis to Factiva and Pub Med Central

2010 min

Sherry Lochhaas Tamara Pilko

Background: questions coming in about how Primo will show articles because this service is on, but they will be articles that either aren’t OA (in the case of PMC) or aren’t in the collection.

Ex Libris Documentation - Service Type :

  • Full Text  – Display the full text of the e-resource,

  • Selected Full Text – The provider displays full text for some of the articles of the journal, but not for all of them.

  • None – Used only for databases without titles, such as abstracting or indexing databases. If you choose None, portfolios cannot be added.

CDI Information:
We subscribe to only some titles in this collection:

Select Yes to indicate a selective subscription or No to indicate a non-selective collection. Selecting No for non-selective collections will cause the Full Text Available indicator to appear for non-selectively subscribed collections, and improve the full text availability indication for non-ID (ISSN/ISBN) content that is harder to match to customer subscriptions.

Do the benefits of keeping selected full text on outweigh the problems with getting false positive articles?

ERES (Kevin Balster Jason Dezember Judy Keys Katie Keyser Michelle Polchow Natalee Bell Paula Pascual Tamara Pilko) to consult with campus stakeholders and get feedback on whether to turn off “selected full text” for Factiva and PubMed Central.

Sherry Lochhaas to compile examples to help with campus discussions

Michelle Polchow will export flowchart to Google DriveCDL will deactivate ‘Selected Full Text’ service for PubMed and Factiva collections. Campuses can locally activate this service in their IZ, if desired.

The problems with getting false positive articles outweigh the benefits of keeping selected full text on.

  •  Sherry Lochhaas to inform CDL staff to delete ‘Selected Full Text’ for Factiva and Pubmed
