Local Training

  • Proceeding with open houses, list of topics; figuring out timeline.

  • Purpose:

    • Assisting with workflow development

    • Way to identify and connect people across the system that are doing the same work

    • Help to capture people who aren’t on any SILS teams but are doing ground work in Alma

  • Timing

    • During cutover, data (not configurations, funds, vendors) gets overwritten

    • Last new campus workshop is mid-April

Local Workflows on the Training Documentation Hub

Considerations for having local workflows in the TDH:

  • Strong desire from campuses to see other’s workflows

  • Concerns about workload and longevity of the TDH

  • Option: Rather than having this be a space for all documentation, a space to share workflows that ex libris doesn’t have much information on (i.e. searches, inventories, etc)

  • SF - would want to look what other campuses are doing and see that we’re aligned. Everyone knows things are changing, so if this isn’t a space for posterity that would be ok.

  • Irvine - same as above

  • Can list date it was submitted and contact person

  • Might be most useful

  • SB - would be useful to have a local space because we don’t have a centralized space. But it would have to be the designated space

A temporary space to share workflows by topic would be most useful. Can reevaluate a permanent space when we know what system will be used in perpetuity
