DISCOVERY VISION: We strive to design and implement the best possible discovery and delivery experience for our end users using data-driven decision making. We envision a network zone experience that will allow users to discover library materials across UC collections without sacrificing relevant results. As such, the default search and results interface should prioritize the success of typical users while providing additional functionality for more advanced users.

4 | UX Testing Subgroup Partnership Work Check- in | Updates on subgroups' progress | 45 min | All | Reference: https://uc-sils.atlassian.net/l/c/Bnhdz0G8 Confluence page | 4ILL and Discovery gave summaries of how they have proceeded including sharing documents that have been developed. Ill has be working testing using UCB VG instance because of its functioning WorldCat search scope. Sarah also mentioned the need to track issues that groups find as the test, that may be out scope but may need to be sent on to other groups. Digital Collections showed how they adapted ILL templates. They also stated that with the current state of digital collections data, they’re work may better characterized as functionality test rather then UX testing. I attended the Digital Collection FG meeting today. Digital Collections FG shared information on some progress regarding the loading of collections from Calisphere as well as providing a list of the different Calisphere collections selected by the Vanguard Campus to load in to the Vanguards. See https://uc-sils.atlassian.net/l/c/hC1QrtoZ It was suggested that all groups should look at CSU’s Grid as a model for the UX testing final product. Ellen reminded the group that some of the subgroups recommendations will need to go to other FG’s for consideration and configuration (such as CDI and Digital Collections). Finally, Sharon suggested three “data points” we should collect when doing our UX testing: What I did, what I expected, and what I found. | ||
