Revisit the North/South rota config for load balancing. Maybe configure differently during TEST to see what else is possible. 1 Rota, or separate ones just for UCLA and UCB.

• When this FG gets the new config form we’ll have to add the non-vanguard campuses.

• There are some questions surrounding how many patron types we can have in test.

• Test-phase configuration is not necessarily how things will be configured for implementation.

• We will begin a decision page to discuss loan times and renewals.

(TEST Load) Strategy for Resource Sharing with WorldShare ILL

Any updates from Joe’s testing

Joe

• Language was added to the decision pages.

• We are hoping to do the Illiad configuration first. The GES will be configured second. If Illiad doesn’t work, we’ll move forward with the GES.

• There are limitations with HathiTrust and Elsevier materials.

• Update: Joe is working with Svetlana to configure the Illiad e-mail. We are waiting for documentation on this. The e-mail data isn’t quite as good as the OpenURL from GES. Joe is working on pulling more bib info from the Illiad e-mail. The user-facing request form may need to be tweaked too.

• A decision page will be required to harmonize the form fields.

• There were some concerns regarding the North/South rota in that it might overwhelm some campuses.

• It is unclear whether or not a preferred library can be specified within an institution.

• We may not be able to test load balancing until implementation.

Testing something found at multiple UCs and an RLF:

• Requesting from UCSD.

• Request landed at SRLF. (Not sure if random.)

• Cancelled request, bounced to UCSF.

• “Skip Location” might bounce a request from one location to another at the same institution.

Trying again with the same item to track it through the system.

Testing “Manual Skip Location” at UCLA:

• This pushed the request to SRLF.

Testing might be required to set up preferred lenders.

Parking Lot

There are some questions around what other things this group might add to the parking lot. Expiration dates and whatnot.

• We may need to revisit our discussion regarding what fields are passed between campuses in the Network Zone. (Name, email, expiry date, etc.)

Members can add to the parking lot issues that they feel need to be considered or tracked.
