User With No First Name in their IZ record:

UCD to UCSD.

Profile appears to be correct. Can’t update or pull into local system because field is missing.

The system didn’t like that there was no first name, address, or resource sharing library.

The resource sharing library requirement might be specific to Davis.

At UCLA the system still threw an error because there was no first name. The same thing at UCR.

It appears that there needs to be something in the required fields, name field in this case. A space or asterisk, for the system to pull the profile across the AFN.

Requesting item from UCSD. The item was non-circulating.

“Request to sent to partner”

Patrons might still be able to request items if they are non-circulating.

Submitting another request for an item only available at Doe. Request didn’t appear. Trying with another account that should have all of the needed information in the profile. Requests aren’t going through properly to UCB.

Parking Lot

Ex Libris may need to help us write a flexible rule for phone numbers to allow for international numbers and different formats. This could potentially be a rule that will accept any string, rather than something specific.

It sounds like multiple campuses lost existing recalls and holds when moving to Alma.

Members can add to the parking lot issues that they feel need to be considered or tracked.

6

RLF Non-Circ items requestable for in-house use

Will need to test in Test Phase

There are some hacks used for library-use only items that can’t be checked out and back in because it will kick off a return process. This will have to be figured out for ExL.

Davis tried creating a “Reading Room” circulation room. This was difficult for circulation staff to manage. There is now a transit step between ILL and the circ desks that allows the item to be checked out again before initiating the return process.

This issue does not just apply for LUO items, but specifically to the RLFs.

Mark will reach out to Lynne Grigsby regarding this question, and based on this discussion, Joe F. and Elizabeth will start a discussion in Basecamp with Ex Libris if needed.
