Recommendation

For the duration of Phase 4, campuses should work with their respective RLFs to determine how to send new deposits.

After Phase 4, the new Cataloging & Metadata Operational Subteam should work with the RLFs and members of the RLF Task Force to determine whether system-wide procedures are feasible.

Reasoning

The current RLF task force is still working on decisions around what the ultimate configuration of the RLFs should be. In addition, after consulting with staff at both RLFs, it is clear that exploring and developing new procedures is desirable but not feasible at this time given the need to start accepting deposits quickly and the short amount of time left in Phase 4. Lastly, many campus and RLF staff are still getting acclimated to Alma and would prefer more time to adjust to the new system before overhauling procedures.
