Impact

UC Libraries

Determinations around what and how we report are for the most part managed/owned by the UC Libraries (i.e., shared ownership).

CDL

CDL analysts, who are responsible for building report queries at the Network Zone according to templates agreements upon by the UC Libraries, will have to exclude items and titles based a variety of date parameters.

Reasoning

After review, the AASA-PT Harmonization group determined that

Background

The AASA-PT Harmonization group reviewed all the UCOP statistics data that can be retrieved via Alma Analytics. One of the factors considered during this review was the existing ACRL and ARL requirements.

Observations about the current data:

  • Item Creation Date

    • Items are created on order and as part of predictions, before the material is received. <how big of a problem is this?>

  • Receiving Date

    • Future dates exist in the migrated data. Cleanup would be necessary.

    • Some campuses report that they do not “use” this date <not entirely clear if this date actually stays null depending on exact processing configuration for print>

  • Lifecycle

    • Filtering on lifecycle will exclude items that were deleted from the repository after the reporting deadline but before the report run date. For example, if a weeding project happens in August and hundreds of print items are removed, a report looking for items created before Jul 1 that runs in October will exclude those items. Even though on July 1, they were still in the collection.
