In addition, there is the Calisphere digital asset management system. These DAMS and IRs contain digital objects like ETDs, journal articles, data sets, images, audio, video, manuscripts and even files to drive the 3D rendering of scanned objects. It would be advantageous for many researchers to be able to search and browse these digital objects in one centralized discovery platform. The UC libraries must set up and maintain a harvesting workflow to gather metadata from the various DAMs and IRs via protocols like the OAI-PMH. | |||
