NZ PrimoVE ‘staff use’ for ILL license terms

Let ILL staff use NZ PrimoVE to see ILL licensing terms. Couched as either the NZ PrimoVE is ‘staff view’ or just temporary until the larger ‘visibility of ILL licensing terms’ project is completed.

Alison Ray (CDL)

ILL staff need to be able to see ILL license terms for eResources. In discussion with the Eres & Acq chairs, it sounds like there are several steps to getting these to show in IZ PrimoVEs.

  • Could they do this? Varied on campus, but CDL provided this through 360 db visible to campus staff (they stopped adding at some point earlier in '21).

  • “Let them use it” = let folks know that this exists and is open for public viewing

  • Define what kind of support we D2D will be providing, as well as CDL Collections.

Work: to allow terms to show up there’s at least one setting in Alma, and one setting in Primo. Davis has it set to show (we can copy their settings?)

  •  Alison Ray (CDL) write email to CaitlinN/GemSL/SherryL/LisaM → pass this decision to ‘open’ NZ PrimoVE for ILL staff until the whole “ILL terms visibility” project is done. (Alison can communicate to RSOST/ILLCKG users if decision goes through)

Running Consortia-Wide Analytics

Come up with a solution allows us to run reports for the whole consortia. This ability was in the RFP? How much can we push back? Do we need to explore another solution?

Gem Stone-Logan

Recently had a need to run a consortia wide report for resource management. Even when running at night, the report was timing out. Ex Libris' response (06314859) was to limit to individual IZs except that isn’t feasible with this need. They suggested as an alternative to limit by various letters of the alphabet (so 26 individual reports . . . ). Not the first time I’ve been told not to run consortia-wide reports (05759999).

Thought it might be related to a bug UCSB ticketed (05300911) but Ex Libris says no.

Further info from Jeremy Hobbs, “I do remember at the CSUs that it was impossible to do any kind of true consortia report of all titles or similar things. You always had to filter by campus and combine results later.”

Let’s bring this to ExL support meeting 3/21 and ACAG on 3/28 and debrief after that.
