• UCLA & UCB have asked Casalini to stop adding 590s to their shelf-ready records.

• UCB has asked Backstage to add 590s with $9 LOCAL in their shelf-ready records.

• TOC continuation 590s. Investigation of example record (OCLC #47869352) that loaded after the 9/19/23 WorldCat Update: confirmation that the 590 is in the WorldCat Update file. Ticket has been filed with OCLC.

• Sandbox configuration testing results for https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Product_Documentation/010Alma_Online_Help_(English)/040Resource_Management/080Configuring_Resource_Management/260Restrict_Editing_of_Metadata_Fields for 590:

  • Manually adding or editing a 590 in Alma is prohibited.

  • Adding a 590 as a local extension is fine.

  • Adding 590s through the Connexion Gateway or an import profile will let it in, but it will have a red symbol next to the field.

  • Can delete 590s in NZ records.
