Team Charter Review

Danelle

• Notetaker will rotate by campus

• Confluence will go public by mid-May/early June

• Our charters need to be finalized before go-live date

• All: review comments and documents linked on charter and contribute ideas on charter
• Danelle Moon (Unlicensed) finalize charge by 14 May 2020

Communication Process

• Consider creating a page about concerns and questions coming from local special collection groups, CKG

• Special Collections Cataloging and Metadata CKG is in process of being formed

  • CKG Charge

  • Michelle Mascaro at UCSD is chair

  • Jasmine also sitting on this CKG and can act as liaison

• Lynda Claassen (Unlicensed) will connect with Michelle Mascaro about communication from CKG to ASCELG

Lessons Learned ALMA Campuses

• Special collections were largely not involved

• UCR: Only just now addressing special collections concerns

  • Only just now looking into Aeon plugin; had issues with Aeon integration initially

  • Link to OAC showing up in strange places

  • Issues with bound-withs

  • Linking issues

• UCSB

  • Issues with multi-language records

  • No issues with Aeon integration

• UCSC

  • Much of request information that populates Aeon request form must come from bib record, but was coming from holding and item record

  • Main disappointment – very little help from Aeon and Alma to do the scripting for us

  • Opportunity for entire system to put pressure on these orgs

• UCD

  • Implemented 3 years ago

  • Functionality and integration is working pretty well right now

  • UI for records, especially how to request through Aeon, is not clear

• UCSB

  • Relied heavily on Melvyl because could not find records after implementation

  • What is length of time that Melvyl will be available?

• Danelle will be a conduit to PPC about issues to escalate to that group

  • Have this information by May 14th meeting for Danelle to take forward

  • There are also special collection representatives on other SILS group, so it would be beneficial to also forward these concerns to those individuals

• Kevin Miller (Unlicensed) connect with Jared, who was part of linking of Primo and Aeon, for UCD

What do want the system to achieve for SC?

• Danelle Moon (Unlicensed) will create a page on the Wiki for us to brainstorm responses to this question, as well as lessons learned from Alma campuses
• All: populate your responses on this page by 14 May 2020

What do we need to improve Discovery?

• PPC Group question #31 Can Primo replace AEON

  • Primo would not address all of the use cases of Aeon

  • Danelle responded to PPC that this is not possible
