RMFG: slated to vote on our first test load decision next week (035 data) and will also use that to iron out kinks in our decison process. Thank you to all of the other FG/ELG chairs who have agree to provide feedback on various decisions. The deadlines are tight all around and I appreciate the willingness to work within my group’s calendar. RMFG has weekly “study hall” sessions where members can ask random questions about Alma and where we can do some collective testing for decision making. Liz, Shi, and Yoko have passed the certification test so now 4 RMFG members are Alma certified.

There was some discussion about using CDI (Primo Central Discovery Index) to manage OA resources, i.e. only activate CDI for Primo discovery and not add bibliographic records to Alma. There are a lot of good reasons to consider it but it raises a lot of questions, like:

Is CDI good enough for OA, should it managed at NZ and by who?

Who needs to be involved in testing it out and decision-making?

Does SCP (or any campus) need to continue to catalog OA resources?

Should anyone migrate existing OA bib records?

How do the UC commitments to OA resources align with using CDI for discovery?

External questions should be directed to PPC email list: SILS-PPC-L@listserv.ucop.edu and PPC can discuss and disseminate.
