Vision Guideposts

The Acquisitions/Electronic Resources Management Functional Group is using the following vision guideposts in its discussions for SILS.

• Clear discernment of consortial vs. local data in one system: including (but not limited to) holdings, vendors, orders, and financial data (with clear permissions as appropriate).

• Supported clear communication and collaboration for collection development and multiple-campus purchases through recording decisions and tracking workflows.

• Streamlined management of shared resource data and better access, control and dissemination of this data between CDL and campuses. 

• Consolidated electronic resources-related information in a shared store, supporting content access as well as entitlements, perpetual access, and rights data.

• Facilitated processes for gathering, managing, and reporting statistics for external entities and internal organizational needs.

• Thorough integration and optimization of community and third-party resources and functionality.

• Enhanced collaboration between campuses related to collections management and acquisitions reporting.
