Team Charter
Objective
Facilitate a transition to new and updated workflows in Alma. Establish procedures and processes related to shared Acquisitions operations. Collaborate to establish common practices for managing co-investments for shared electronic resources between CDL and campuses. To the extent possible, explore and establish standardization of terms and best practices for processes in acquisitions areas, while considering local practices (use of fields purchase order lines, including reporting codes; vendor records; acquisitions workflow connection to shared inventory). Build knowledge and skills with Alma Analytics in order to guide shared reports and advise on best practices for Acquisitions data.
Roles
What are the duties needed to get the work done? Who will take notes? Who will keep meetings on track/time? Who is responsible for tracking actions?
Notetaker
Timekeeper
Proposing rotating in pairs alphabetically by campuses (trading across two weeks, then moving to next pair). Substitutes managed informally as needed.
What are our expectations for working together?
Create a list of statements that the team agrees to uphold. For example, ask yourself: How do we make this group a safe space for transparent discussion (knowing that it might become contentious, and avoid back-channeling)? What are our ground rules for meetings? How do we ensure everyone is engaged? How do we ensure everyone has a voice? How will we resolve disagreements?
Using Slack to initiate a conversation/question works, but we will ensure to transfer more lasting/formalized content into an email message, Confluence page or more “durable” format.
Recorded meetings are the for purpose of sharing with absent group members, unless otherwise agreed to by the members present. (i.e., sharing an Alma demo/discussion with local campus members).
The SILS mission is to transform library services and operations through innovation and collaboration. The future is shared!
