How to Handle Duplicate Network Patron Accounts

In November 2021, it was discovered that Alma generated duplicate Network patron accounts in some UC Almas for a small handful of patrons. A ticket was submitted to Ex-Libris, and they directed us to change the uresolver_remote_register parameter in the Network Zone from ‘None’ to ‘Manual’ to stop the duplication of Network patron accounts in our IZs. After that, if we did not clean up all the duplicated accounts, further duplication would continue, resulting in the affected patrons being unable to check out their requested ILL materials. With duplicate accounts, Alma will keep thinking that the requests for items are meant for another patron. CDL created a report of duplicate Network patron accounts in the NZ for cleanup.

Any duplicate Network Patron accounts can be found on the Alma Analytics report found here:

Alma Analytics> Open>Shared Folders/University of California System 01UCS_NETWORK/Reprots/CDL IC and the report is called "Duplicate Network Group Account"

If your campus has not turned on viewing of NZ analytics reports, documentation on how to do that can be found here: You have to go to your IZ Analytics Network configuration and set analytics_catalog_available_for_my_institution to true. https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Product_Documentation/010Alma_Online_Help_(Englis[…]nfiguring_Analytics_to_Display_Network_Zone_Information
