Phase 2 Discussion

Respond to Caitlin’s questions regarding Phase 2

10 min

Everyone

For now: I have questions on how you’d like to structure the move to Phase 2 – which doesn’t sound urgent, so I’m not worried. Off the top of my head it seems like we could do two things: (1) ask for an extension of this group with an optional rotation of members. Or (2) create a whole new group with a charge based on what got done / what is needed based on Phase 1. I don’t necessarily recommend the second: without some greater purpose that I just can’t see now, it seems like it would be more paperwork for essentially the same outcome.

Does the team have a sense already of who might stay on? Do you have a preferred way of handling the extension to Phase 2? I think that would certainly inform how we proceed.

I can say that timeline-wise, it’s pretty early to have to think of the nitty-gritty now. I’d expect something more in September-ish that would outline how the transition to Phase 2 would be handled. And I think by that point the group would have a lot more information, and we would have plenty of time to incorporate feedback / needs from the LG or OT.

Resources and training page scope draft

Review and update Resources and Training page scope

@Catherine Busselen @Israel Yáñez

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1CaNqwo9SWKCsfTgt17XNlEtJXbZCqZagNXrcpcsN0cY/edit

Curated, mediated or community driven?

Do we include OA, freely available, Tier 1 journals content? Anti-racist training?

Should we exclude some content? content behind a paywall, presentations that are not best practice or training-focused?

Perhaps organize the page so that different types of resources/training can be included.

Other questions?

Feel free to comment on the draft statement before the next meeting.
