Liz:

• We officially have a UC-wide Gobi deal that will cover print and e-book cataloging for everyone starting in July. We’ll be working with AEFG to figure out what the best workflow will be.

• Questions for the Gobi session on 3/8 are due tomorrow, 3/3.

Jean, UCB: It would be good to know more about cat stats if we could.

Jean: Updated: Oh, I think this is a campus decision after all. Never mind.

From earlier: A big issue that I am currently looking in our documents about, but I’ll put here in the case that I don’t find it soon: The non-migration of unlinked analytics. From my local UCB people: “It is unacceptable to not migrate them (at least not all of them). For Bancroft, they would like to propose that all "ze" locations be reverted back to "tb" and be migrated to Alma. There are some other ideas we have been kicking around for post-migration cleanup of these records. But, leaving them behind is not an option.”

Reminder about campus SCP bibs

Please remind your local groups about this decision page regarding campus SCP bibs: (Vanguard and Test Load) Preparation of Campus SCP Data

Campuses should only bring SCP records over for cutover/go-live if:

• They have local access in addition to CDL access

• The bib is needed for a local order record. In this case the bib must be suppressed and must have all traces of an OCLC number moved/edited to keep it out of the NZ

• This applies even if SCP is not including the bib on its initial NZ ILS bib load. All of the SCP bibs that match SFX activations will be evaluated over time to see if the SFX bibs need to be replaced with ones from the SCP IZ.

ILSDC also discussed issue for Alma campuses with SCP record, any update?

• No, not yet, and this could be an issue with Marcive and SCP records in the NZ

UCSD and UCLA had issues with the P2E process on 856 fields

• Liz will bring Marcive/SCP issue to TSELG

Test workflows during study hall on 3/10 to prep for 3/22 special meeting? Here’s the document

Issues:

• NZ Gateway won’t bring local extensions, will need to be very generic

• We should recommend the best ways for certain workflows (edit the document to put recommendations higher)

How to structure that meeting?

RMFG will finalize the document by 3/9 and share it with local SILS groups; ask for questions to be submitted by 3/15, to prep for 3/22 meeting

Can we standardize ETD records prior to migration or should we ask TSELG to let us revisit after go-live?

• Can we get ProQuest/Merritt to put more info in the records to make standardization easier?

• The next step would be to have eScholarship become a CZ contributor, but that’s down the road, many steps

• How will OCLC holdings be set for these?

Liz will make a Platonic ideal record and ask ProQuest/Merritt about what they can do

Testing documentation

Some test templates have been added to our tracking sheet, let’s review those and make sure we have data migration decisions identified

All of the data decisions also have a new section called “decision of last resort” that we can use to make sure we don’t get stuck.

Next week, 3/9, is voting meeting for 2 of these decisions: Aeon integration and Local fields

• Each campus can designate 10 fields for Analytics, and if we use the same “Local param” fields for the same things, we can have shared reports

• Who needs a local field for cataloger stats, and do we want to standardize this?

• Questions about CDI, adding 973 fields to CZ records

• In Test Load, did brief order records in the NZ overwrite better records? This only applies if campuses linked order records to bibs with OCLC numbers

• Share the tracking sheet with campuses and solicit feedback about deadlines

• Do campuses want a standardized local field for cataloger stats?
