Description | Electronic resources management shifted from SFX to Alma including for link resolver functionality. The Outbound Linking project aimed at a completion date of October 27th, the last contract date for SFX. Ex Libris allowed a grace period. UC campuses have confirmed that CDL may move ahead with Ex Libris to decommission SFX. |

Recommendation
AEFG recommends that CDL proceed with decommission steps for SFX for early January, 2022.
Reasoning
The Outbound Linking project is complete, including everyone’s PubMed updates.
The SSL certificate expires on January 7th. No campus expressed a critical need to keep SFX going. If a need had been expressed, that certificate renewal would be involved.
Electronic resources troubleshooting in January is typical to address any access issues from subscription renewals. Any residual SFX use would be identified to troubleshoot remaining outbound linking issues. The Electronic Resources Subgroup has been updated as to this upcoming change to be alert to any related trouble tickets in early 2022.
