Updates

All

  1. As Suzanne Wones (UL at UCB) is on the listserv for our group, we are concluding that she is in fact our representative from CoUL.

  2. Rachael Hu is working on a risk matrix for vendor products used by CDL, which includes ExLibris. She is wondering if she should bring the risk matrix for ExLibris to the group.

As we are in the process of organizing the legal risks posed by ExLibris' accessibility issues, this group would find Rachael’s risk assessment matrix very useful.

Deliverable: legal exposure

Jesse

Jesse met with Trevor Finneman in UCOP at Rachael Samberg & Tim Vollmer at UCB to discuss UC’s legal risks vis-a-vis continued use of UC Library Search. All are currently reviewing our contract with ExLibris and will report back.

4

Deliverable: communications with ExLibris

Jesse

  1. Jesse has reached out to Adrienne Pilecky-Dekajlo (ExLibris account representative for UC) to invite her to a meeting of our group.

  2. Adrienne asked to see an agenda in advance, and stated that the Clarivate accessibility team would join her for any meeting.

  1. The group has put together a draft agenda for meeting with Adrienne/Clarivate accessibility team and prioritized the items.

  2. Jesse will formalize the agenda and, after review by the group, provide it to Adrienne.

5

Deliverable: comprehensive case of accessibility issues

Jesse

As there are already two excellent extant audits of UC Library Search (one by CDL and one by the DOJ), does it make sense to combine these into one document and identify it as the current, most comprehensive list of accessibility issues?

  1. The group agrees that it does!

  2. Jesse will organize these two spreadsheets into one.
