Taking Time Off From The SILS Project
As we all grapple to manage the impact of COVID19 on our daily lives, review these working-group-approved policies for taking time off from the SILS project and supporting members taking time off:
For absences of a short duration such as a vacation or conference, mark your leave on the Vacations/Out page on your group’s Google shared drive. You should not invite a substitute to attend a meeting in your place for a short absence.
For extended absences of three or more weeks, such as family leave or reduced hours, talk to your group chair(s) about the possibility of choosing a substitute for attending meetings and completing group work.
As a best practice, groups should record meetings to be shared with members who are absent; delete recordings after a reasonable amount of time for privacy reasons.
