Recommendation

RMFG has decided to use the following in bib records: 899 $$a Exclude from discovery network

Reasoning

The 899 is listed as an NZ index in Alma and no one is using it for anything at this time.

Background

The UC “discovery network” allows IZ-only bibs to be discoverable between campuses. This is generally a benefit since it allows campuses to keep some bibliographic records in their IZ and still be visible to other campus users. However, there is still a need to keep some records from showing up between campuses (equipment, etc.). Primo can utilize a MARC tag with specific text to do this so the ICs asked PPC to review and decide if one could be proposed. RMFG has decided on the 899.
