4	PID Discussions	Figure out next steps		Gem	Some kind of upcoming AWS change is precipitating an investigation of PID service. Previous action item: figure out what people are using PID service for, and hopefully retire it. No one is creating new PIDs. where they are now: (1) Alma instances are using PIDs, (2) LibGuides For the Alma PIDs we could probably re-home those PIDs somehow. Could these be ARKs? PID service could do bulk new PIDs. But we don’t need this. It’s old code and it’s costly to maintain it. Can we do a redirection service? Next steps: (1) clarifying the problem, (2) brainstorming the solutions, (3) testing with campuses. → Gem and Lena to take this forward, in the context of Tech Team and AWS infrastructure needs; Gem will report to SOC as needed.
