Recommendation
Gobi shelf-ready records can and should be migrated into the NZ. If a campus has a more specific sharing prohibition then they should leave the records out until they are able to confirm with the vendor.
For post-migration see: (Go-Live) Vendor bib records/overlay rules and Import Profiles - AEFG w/ RMFG (MVP 003)
Reasoning
Background
Relevant decision pages: Bibliographic records to leave out of the Vanguard NZ
TSELG is exploring a recommendation that CDL negotiate a system wide license for YBP shelf-ready since all of the campuses have some kind of subscription. There are questions about workflow starting July 2021, especially what happens if the records are loaded directly into the NZ and how that impacts Acquisitions. RMFG and Acq/ERM have been asked to test loading files into the NZ during test load if possible.
Dependencies
CDL license negotiation: can this be done before go-live?
Not a concern. Shelf-ready records can be added regardless and workflows can be adjusted whenever the agreement is started.
Questions to consider
What happens to the acquisitions workflow if campuses buy the same resources at/around the same time?
For campuses who subscribe to the Gold Plus service, are there fields in the YBP-created records that are not in OCLC master records?
Who will load/process files?
For Vanguard, who will load test files into the NZ?
If possible, would we like the vendor to set holdings in OCLC?
