PPC Q&A with Exlibris

Reminder Q&A meeting with ExLibris is scheduled for our FG June 4th during our normal meeting time.

  • ExLibris would like us to post all questions we’d like to ask to our Basecamp meeting page at least 3 days ahead of the meeting.

Elizabeth asked two questions at PPC, summaries of the answers are below. These, and future, answers will be stored in a Google Doc.

Alma will generate a new primary identifier when creating an account for patrons when they visit a new campus.

Patrons having a manual block other than bills will need to be identified before migration at each campus in order to be migrated.

Our June 4 meeting will be with Ex Libris. It will be recorded. Questions will be finalized on Monday.

Everyone continue to post questions to https://drive.google.com/open?id=1tgQWbwjRb_q_yoIVNcRtZSJ6losnC_x2282KVtPdZyQ
@Elizabeth Rodriguez (Unlicensed) will post the questions in Basecamp by Monday June 1st.
Elizabeth will put questions posed to Ex Libris at PPC to a Google Doc.

First decisions from the ICs

Judea emailed us all about UCOP’s retention schedule. Should we modify our recommendation of 6 months?

All

Based on UCOP’s retention schedule. The group will modify the FG recommendation to reflect retaining records for 1 year instead of 6 months.

Fulfillment network decision page and decision pages in progress

Update from PMs about handling decision pages in Confluence

https://drive.google.com/drive/u/3/folders/1dyUsutK64M1ynR3KAZRZuuG_AnUbN4MZ?ths=true

All

Our Confluence goes public on June 1.

The PMs and ICs have outlined some best practices for handling in progress decision pages. Including labeling items as In Progress or Decided.

Another option is to work on decision pages in Google and pushing them out to Confluence once it is complete.

The UC Fulfillment Network decision page is currently in Goolge Drive.

Action: The group should let Elizabeth know if they are okay with pushing out the Fulfillment network decision to Confluence or if they have concerns.

SILs Visioning statement for FGs

All

The PMs and ICs are asking all FGs to create a one page visioning statement.

  • It’s meant for internal use, and will be kept in our google drive.

  • It can be worked on over the next couple of weeks.

There will be a Google Doc that this group can use as a starting point for building out our Visioning Statement.

We can articulate what we would like to see in response to the headings in a few bullet points at the bottom of the page.

Group members should start editing the document specified to the left.

Capture important topics for future discussion

Once the Fulfillment Network decision is posted this group will pick another critical issue and make the decision to work on it in Google or Confluence.

There may be a need to test some critical functions in the Vanguard and assign responsibilities for those functions.

Elizabeth will seek clarification on whether or not this FG will be able to identify functions to be tested and explored.
