New to Alma Campuses

Santa Barbara:

  1. Locally formed groups:

    1. 6-7 people meet regularly to talk about migration. Some of the people are on a SILS group, but not all

      1. Then there are subgroups, communication, may be a training in the future, testers, then some specific topics

  2. Training will look more at how are things different, what workflows will change

  3. Training methods depends on the specific training, some one on ones, office hours (6-9 months after go live)

  4. Separate analytics training with a group, then brought in an outside expert to provide more in depth training a year or so after go live

Davis:

  1. Haven’t done much this go around, other than identify who the trainers will be.

    1. Do know that it will be much different than last time, which was too specific

  2. Optimistic about the Spring Workshops and the opportunity to ask more questions

  3. Locally formed groups:

    1. Departments worked and tested within themselves

    2. Training documentation group

    3. Local testers

Santa Cruz:

Riverside:

  1. Had leads for different areas, who were also the trainers for groups not heavily involved with the migration

    1. Each of the trainers handled it differently, some setup a room and had office hours or had Confluence pages with FAQs/documentation

  2. Asked for questions before the ExL trainings, then if they couldn’t answer them beforehand, they would be sure that those were answered during the workshop

  3. Still do training, retraining on things they haven’t looked at recently, new updates to the system

  4. Developed post-migration groups that help with trainings:

    1. Also answers questions about workflows

    2. Tracks Jira tickets

Irvine:

  1. After Ex Libris training, did mostly informal, department specific trainngs

  2. Suggestions for this time:

    1. Use the sandbox more (with more permissions)

    2. Doing group work with other UC’s

    3. Detailed, step-by-step instructions

  3. Have a working group that meets weekly, then a larger SILS group that meets monthly
