Hi All - Something we discussed today is the topic of AI showing up within paid content. An example of this came to the Collection Strategies CKG via the Ebook Strategies CKG: a Springer book where the summaries within the published book were written by AI. The CollStrat CKG also discussed collection policies specifically saying they would not collect AI generated works, but most examples were from public libraries. Anyway we concluded that it might be an interesting meeting to have our Springer rep come and talk to use about their decision to include this AI content in this book (and beyond).

Finalizing 2 outstanding pages for all chairs

Multi-Part E-Collections

Perpetual rights and entitlement functionality in Alma DRAFT

  • Go through pages with our charges in mind and answer/discuss the questions in the Actions column (to the right).

  • These pages were Initially from Phase IV, but we have more information and practice pages now. How does that consideration factor into any finalization of these pages?

  • Think about what is irrelevant, confusing, or misleading on any pages; they should be clear & concise.

  • If someone hasn't submitted a request regarding a page yet, is the page even still needed?

  • If a page is a historical document, it might already be completed. Edit the page to reflect this.

Group should be ready to think about the following:

  1. Where is this decision page coming from?

  2. Who is the primary audience?

  3. How will it be used moving forward? Will it be used moving forward?

  4. Is it duplicating information on other pages?
