RFPG Response to Questions from TSELG

How will the RLFs work in the shared Alma/Primo VE environments? RFPG: We don’t yet know. There are many open options and decisions to be made.

Will there be a location code for NRLF/SRLF? RFPG: Location codes exist now.

Consideration of public access to the new RLF inventory management system (IMS)? RFPG: The system “record of record” is the ILS record. The IMS has minimal bib information and is not updated regularly. It’s a staff tool and not for public view. The new IMS integrates well with Alma.

June 2 ExL dialog--How we felt it went: We hope the recording link is available soon. Viewable list of Q’s and responses available in Basecamp.

“Central cataloging agency” = CDL & SCP. That agency would maintain copies of best practices.

Dataflow to migrate data into Vanguard is main focus now.

E-resource data, portfolios do not need to live in IZ, only in NZ. Knowing where data lives informs expected workflows and report writing.

Campuses have varying Gobi arrangements in place for cataloging services. Should those be harmonized for importing directly to NZ, or better into IZ and then link to NZ? What rights do your editors have, for editing in NZ? If we all don’t have Gold level, so affects ability to share records in NZ, without renegotiating with Gobi.

It seemed really hopeful that we could connect NZ to WorldCat via WorldCat Collection Manager for updates.
